A sergeant in the UAMS Police Department, McKinney is a wonderful example of UAMS’ values of being polite, friendly, respectful, considerate, positive and kind.

Chancellor Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA, recognizes Sgt. Greg McKinney as MVP for July.

Chancellor Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA, recognizes Sgt. Greg McKinney as MVP for July.

Here is what his nominator had to say:

“Sgt. Greg McKinney has shown leadership in every way. There are so many things he has done to aid in this hospital’s fight against COVID-19.

Here are just a few examples of how Sgt. McKinney went above and beyond. Sgt. McKinney will come on shift and get the officers ready to conduct their assignments for the day. He usually comes in about 30 minutes early on his own time to make this happen. Once the shift begins, he will go down to the drive-thru triage area and make sure that the medical staff has water and refreshments on ice so they don’t have to worry about where they’re going to get cool drinks during the hot summer days. He also refills the water cooler fans in the mornings as well.

On the days traffic is backed up down Stephens Drive, Sgt. McKinney stands out there for hours making sure that the traffic is still moving. On June 16, Sgt. McKinney stood out in the hot sun directing traffic for 10 hours straight while making sure his other officers were taken care of for lunches and breaks.”
