UAMS Pediatric Cardiologist to Lead National Cardiology Group
| LITTLE ROCK — A pediatric cardiologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the new chairman of the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology.
James W. Fasules, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics of the UAMS College of Medicine and an associate professor of health policy and management in the UAMS College of Public Health. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago and is certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) is one of two major academic societies in the field of cardiology. More than 27,000 cardiologists from the U.S. and around the world are members of ACC.
Dr. Fasules sees patients at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, which is affiliated with UAMS. UAMS College of Medicine faculty physicians and surgeons are on staff at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
