Warren Kids First Health Fair Promises Something for Everyone

By todd

UAMS Kids First in Warren will host the fair and more than 25 agencies and organizations will contribute resources – all to promote health and early prevention of disease.

Prostate cancer screenings, breast mammograms, cholesterol checks, and glucose checks will be available for adults. Medical personnel will measure body mass index (BMI) and give consultations on nutrition. Young children can hear stories about good health and healthy foods, get their faces painted with pictures of fruits and vegetables, and visit a booth for developmental screenings. Older youth will want to see the demonstration on skateboard safety.

Each of the participating agencies will provide a door prize and there will be a drawing for a grand prize. Healthy snacks will be available at the fair. All children should be accompanied by parents or guardians.

UAMS Kids First is a program of the department of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
