UAMS Nephrologist to Discuss Chronic Renal Disease April 13 in Fort Smith
| FORT SMITH – Mary Jo Shaver-Lewis, M.D., an assistant professor of medicine (nephrology) in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will discuss chronic renal disease at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Shaver-Lewis, also a staff physician in the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), earned her medical degree, completed an internal medicine residency and served a nephrology fellowship at UAMS. She is director of hemodialysis and associate director of the Nephrology Fellowship Program at both UAMS and CAVHS. Shaver-Lewis is also serving a three-year term (2002-2005) on the Arkansas Kidney Disease Commission, as appointed by Gov. Mike Huckabee.
