UAMS “Julep Cup Jaunt” May 1

By todd

LITTLE ROCK – Horses and hats will be the theme when the UAMS Consortium throws a “Julep Cup Jaunt” on Derby Day, May 1, to raise funds for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Family Home.

The live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby will be the highlight of the party unless the informal competition for best Derby Day hat steals the show. Attire will be casual but, in Kentucky Derby tradition, hats will be de rigueur.

The UAMS Consortium, a group of young business and professional leaders, will hold a silent auction and watch the race at Mighty Bluebird Field, 6800 Pinnacle Valley Rd., 3-7 p.m. Tickets will be $45. Call Dana Hof at 501-686-8099 or e-mail hofdanah@uams.edu for reservations.

The UAMS Family Home and Arkansas Cancer Research Center Auxiliary Cancer Support Center across from UAMS in Little Rock provides low-cost overnight lodging for families of cancer patients and infants in the UAMS Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
