Woodwind Quintet to Perform at UAMS April 6

LITTLE ROCK – Members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO), including two administrators in the College of Medicine, will perform Tues., April 6, 4 p.m., in Sam Walton Auditorium on the 10th floor of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center.


The concert will be free and open to UAMS faculty, staff, students, and patients as well as the general public.


The ASO Woodwind Quintet, including Beth Wheeler on oboe and Susan Leon on bassoon, both of the College of Medicine, will perform. The other members of the quintet are Diane McVinney on flute, Kelly Johnson on clarinet, and Caroline Kinsey on horn. Guest artist Rick Dimond also will appear, performing on bongos.


This concert is part of the Dr. Ruth Allen Concert Series at UAMS. Dr. Allen, a retired associate professor in the UAMS Office of Educational Development, established an endowment that is the primary support for the concerts. The UAMS Faculty Friends of ASO also sponsors the concert series.
