Burnett received his medical degree from the Georgetown University College of Medicine where he also completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in gynecological oncology (the medical subspecialty that deals with cancers of the female reproductive system). Burnett, an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the UAMS College of Medicine, is certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His clinical interests include preserving fertility in gynecologic cancer patients; managing gynecologic cancers through minimally invasive procedures; and improving survival in cervical, ovarian and endometrial cancer patients.
