UAMS Head Start Program to Register Pre-school Children

LITTLE ROCK – The Head Start / Early Head Start Program in Pulaski County, operated by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), is accepting applications for the 2005 – 2006 school year.


 


Children must be age 3 or 4 on or before September 15, 2005, to be eligible for the program. Parents wishing to enroll their pre-school children may complete applications at any of the Head Start centers in Pulaski County or at the Head Start Central Office, 7415 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.


 


To register a child, parents must provide:



  • An original birth certificate
  • Current immunization records
  • Copies of medical insurance, Medicaid or AR Kids First cards
  • Copies of the child’s Social Security card
  • Proof of income 

 


Head Start accepts children without regard to race, sex, creed, color, religion, national origin or disabling condition. Ten percent of the program’s slots are reserved for children with special needs. For more information about Head Start, call the Head Start Central Office at 501-570-5000.
