UAMS to Offer Symposium on Teaching with Technology
| LITTLE ROCK — Individuals interested in technology-related issues in education are invited to attend the Teaching with Technology Symposium July 21 at the The symposium is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the UAMS Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute. It is designed for higher education instructors, corporate trainers and others who participate in technology-based education. Cost is $45 per person before July 7 and $55 after that date. Students receive a discount. Keynote speakers are Rena Palloff and Keith Pratt, authors of the book “Building Learning Communities in Cyberspace: Effective Strategies for the Online Classroom.” Palloff and Pratt are consulting editors on a series of faculty guides for online learning and have contributed to the book series “Collaborating Online: Learning Together in Community.” Sessions will include topics such as good practices for online courses, copyright and fair use issues, security issues and computer-based testing, and digital photo editing.
