UAMS Names Peel Communications Director

LITTLE ROCK – Andrea Peel was recently named communications director in the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).


 


Peel, who joined UAMS in 2002, previously served as a communications manager. Her responsibilities include working with members of the local, state and national news media as well as developing strategies for internal and external communications projects.


 


Prior to joining the communications staff at UAMS, Peel worked as a communications manager for telecommunications company Alltel in Little Rock. She received a journalism degree in 1993 from the University of Arkansas.


 


Peel is a member of the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and serves as a board member for the Arkansas chapter of the March of Dimes. She is an alumnus of the Leadership Greater Little Rock program.


 


UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with five colleges, a graduate school, a medical center, five centers of excellence and a statewide network of regional centers. UAMS has about 2,320 students and 690 medical residents.
