LITTLE ROCK – Shannon Hughen was recently named assistant director of development for the Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

A Little Rock native, Hughen will coordinate fund-raising efforts for the Jones Eye Institute (JEI), one of 20 free-standing eye institutes in the country. Hughen previously worked in donor development for the American Red Cross. She also supervised recruitment efforts for that organization’s apheresis program.

Hughen is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she earned bachelor’s degrees in advertising and marketing. While at UALR, she was president of the campus chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Hughen is a member of the Arkansas Young Professionals Network, where she is chairman of its outreach committee and a member of its Board of Governors Committee.
