CNBC to Feature UAMS, Huckabee on Jan. 21

LITTLE ROCK – The Weight Control Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Philip Kern, M.D., who directed the clinic when former Gov. Mike Huckabee was a patient there, will be featured along with Huckabee on the show dLifeTV (Diabetes Life) on CNBC at 6 p.m. Jan. 21.


 


The television crew from NBC’s consumer news and business news network visited Little Rock in October to film in the UAMS weight control clinic and at the Governor’s Mansion. Huckabee has received national attention over the last several years for losing 110 pounds through the program, thus becoming cured of type 2 diabetes.


 


The show also interviewed UAMS patients, including Preston Bynum, a longtime Little Rock lobbyist who lost 30 pounds in his first month on the program and had lost 80 pounds total by the time of the interview.
