June Science Café Topic Is ‘Zoos: Crucial Conservation’

LITTLE ROCK – The Science Café Little Rock, co-sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will hold its next public forum, “Zoos: Crucial Conservation,” on June 26.


 


Held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sufficient Grounds Coffeehouse in Little Rock’s Hillcrest area at 722 N. Palm St., the Science Café is a monthly forum to exchange intellectual ideas. Admission is free and no reservations are needed, though seating is limited. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.


 


Science Café was created in partnership with UAMS, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), Southwestern Energy, the Little Rock Zoo, the Arkansas Biosciences Institute and the Arkansas Academy of Sciences.


 


This month, panelists from the Little Rock Zoo and UALR will lead the discussion. Dorothy Miles, Ph.D., UAMS Arkansas Cancer Research Center research associate and KUAR FM89 public radio news anchor/reporter, will moderate.


 


Science Café Little Rock forums are held at Sufficient Grounds the fourth Tuesday of the month except for July, August and December. Future topics include: CSI – Science Undercover, Climate Change, Breast Cancer – Are We Really Making Progress?, Ecotourism, Art and Healing and Nanotechnology.
