LITTLE ROCK – Ernie Bailey, director of Audiovisual Services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), has received the Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award from InfoComm International, the audiovisual trade association.

Bailey, a certified technology specialist, received his award at InfoComm’s annual AV Awards Ceremony on June 18 in Anaheim, Calif.

Bailey, a member of the 4,200-member association for 22 years, was recognized for his contributions to the industry, including his successful effort to establish AV Week, which resulted in more than 30 AV Week events around the country in October 2006.

At UAMS, where Bailey has worked for almost 26 years, he brought together faculty, IT staff, administrators and AV professionals for a full-day conference on the use of AV on campus.
