Feb. 26 Science Café – ‘Art, Creativity and Healing’

LITTLE ROCK – The Science Café Little Rock, co-sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will hold its next public forum, “Art, Creativity and Healing” on Feb. 26.


 


Science Café was created in partnership with UAMS, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), Southwestern Energy, Central Arkansas Section of the American Chemical Society, Arkansas Biosciences Institute, and the Arkansas Academy of Sciences.


 


This month, panelists from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, UALR, Pulaski Academy, and the Arc of Arkansas will lead the discussion. The moderator is Dorothy Miles, Ph.D., UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute research associate and former KUAR FM89 public radio news anchor/reporter.


 


Held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Laughing Moon Café in Little Rock’s Hillcrest area at 722 N. Palm St., the Science Café is a relaxed opportunity for monthly exchanges with various experts. Admission is free and no reservations are needed, though seating and handicap access are limited. Food and beverages are available for purchase.


 


Science Café forums are held the fourth Tuesday of the month except for July, August and December. Future topics include: Chemistry of Chocolate; NASA, Space Science & You; Ecotourism; Modern Exercise: Not Just Jogging Anymore; and What’s the Big Deal about Nanotechnology?
