Nate Hinkel Joins UAMS Communications & Marketing

LITTLE ROCK – Nate Hinkel of Little Rock has joined the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as a communications specialist.


 


Hinkel previously worked for nearly four years as a columnist and assistant editor for Arkansas Business, a statewide weekly business journal owned by Arkansas Business Publishing Group. He also spent more than two years as sports editor and reporter at The Times of North Little Rock and is a former sports reporter and sports editor at the Mt. Vernon Register-News in Mt. Vernon, Ill.


 


The UAMS Office of Communications and Marketing produces news releases, feature articles and other writing about campus services, medical procedures, faculty and staff, grants, awards and other events for internal and external publication, and serves as an on-campus public relations, advertising and marketing arm for UAMS.


 


UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with five colleges, a graduate school, a medical center, six centers of excellence and a statewide network of regional centers. UAMS has 2,538 students and 733 medical residents. Its centers of excellence include the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Jackson T.
