Cristiano Boneti, M.D., Joins UAMS Department of Surgery

Boneti specializes in diseases of the breast. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

He received his medical degree at Fundacao Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas de Porto Alegre in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.  He completed general surgery residencies at Hospital Ernesto Dornelles in Porto Alegre and at UAMS. In 2010, he completed the Surgical Breast Oncology Fellowship at UAMS.

Boneti’s breast cancer research experience includes extensive work on the Axillary Reverse Mapping (ARM) procedure to prevent the arm swelling known as lymphedema. The ARM procedure was developed at UAMS by V. Suzanne Klimberg, M.D., director of the UAMS Breast Cancer Program.
