Four Named to UAMS Foundation Fund Board
| LITTLE ROCK – Sandra Connor and Jeff Gardner of Little Rock, Mark Fowler of Jonesboro, and Stephen LaFrance Sr. of Pine Bluff have been elected to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Foundation Fund Board effective Jan. 1.
Members are selected for a three-year term and may serve up to three terms.
“The UAMS Foundation Fund Board is grateful to these individuals for their work to support UAMS, volunteering their time and advocating in their communities the services UAMS provides in education, health care, research and outreach programs,” said John Blohm, executive director of the UAMS Foundation Fund Board and vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Affairs. “UAMS is honored they have agreed to serve and we look forward to their continued partnership and guidance.”
UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Related Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a 540,000-square-foot hospital; a statewide network of regional centers; and six institutes: the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy, the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute, the Psychiatric Research Institute and the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. It is the only adult Level 1 trauma center in the state. UAMS has 2,836 students and 761 medical residents.
