UAMS Sets SeniorNet April Workshops, Computer Classes for People 50 and Up
| LITTLE ROCK — Three workshops — Using your iPhone, iPad for Beginners and Using iPhoto on Your Mac Computer — and two computer classes — Fundamentals for Beginners – Windows 7 and Introduction to Computers – Windows 7 — will be taught in April for people ages 50 and older at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
The workshops are:
- Using Your iPhone, April 6, 8 and 10, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- iPad for Beginners, April 13, 15 and 17, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- Using iPhoto on Your Mac Computer, April 20 and 22, 1:30-3 p.m.
Cost for Using Your iPhone is $20 plus $10 for the manual. Cost for iPad for Beginners is $20 plus $15 for the manual. Cost for Using iPhoto on Your Mac Computer is $25 and does not require a manual.
Computer classes begin April 2. They are:
- Fundamentals for Beginners – Windows 7, Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-noon
- Introduction to Computers – Windows 7, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m.
The cost for the month-long classes is $45, and student manuals are $15. The program is administered by SeniorNet, a nonprofit volunteer group. The workshop and classes are in Room 2156 at the UAMS Institute on Aging, 629 Jack Stephens Drive, Little Rock.
