July MVP — Gayla Houston

By Yavonda Chase

Gayla is a technician in the Outpatient Pharmacy whose friendly demeanor is appreciated by her colleagues and patients.

Her nominator sang her praises:

“Gayla is an essential asset to the outpatient pharmacy. She is one of the cashiers and interacts with hundreds of patients on a daily basis. She spreads kindness by welcoming all patients with a smile and encouraging word. She is patient, respectful and considerate whether talking to patients or fellow staff members.

A patient stopped to share with management their impression of Gayla’s customer service. She was so pleased that Gayla always greets her with a smile and has a pleasant demeanor, even if there is a long line or an issue that needs to be resolved. UAMS and the outpatient pharmacy are so fortunate to have her as an employee.”
