Hunter Gibbs, M.D., Joins UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute
| Psychiatrist Hunter Gibbs, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as medical director of adult inpatient units at the Psychiatric Research Institute.
Gibbs is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry in the UAMS College of Medicine. He earned a bachelor’s in biology from Hendrix College in 2007 and completed his medical degree and residency at UAMS. He recently completed a three-year stint as an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
UAMS is the state’s only health sciences university, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a main campus in Little Rock; a Northwest Arkansas regional campus in Fayetteville; a statewide network of regional campuses; and eight institutes: the Winthrop P.
