December MVP — Gina Boshears

By Yavonda Chase

A nursing advanced practice partner, Gina was nominated by a co-worker, who had these kind things to say about her:

“If there is anyone that should be recognized for dedication to UAMS and our staff, patients, and visitors, it is Gina Boshears. Gina embodies our core values. You will not find anyone who is more kind, respectful, positive and friendly than her; she truly cares about the well-being of others.

She continuously goes out of her way to ensure that everyone feels appreciated and included. I cannot name all of the times she has sacrificed to ensure that others have what they need. Just a small number of those sacrifices include sleeping at work to ensure she can connect with the night shift staff, working 16+ hour days during special educational events, bringing goodies for the staff and setting aside other duties to care for the patients.

She makes staff feel like family, and they love her. She also treats patients as if they were her family. I have seen her numerous times sprint down the hall when alarms are going off. When a family is grieving, she offers supports and grieves with them. There is no doubt that she is helping to provide patient- and family-centered care. She can put a positive spin on any situation, fosters teamwork and diversity, and is committed to excellence. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? Nominations are being accepted. Any employee can nominate someone, and all employees are eligible to be nominated.
