How To Stick to the Plan During the Holidays

  • Schedule gym time on your calendar as if it were an important appointment (because it is!)
  • Leave a packed gym bag in your vehicle. You’ll have what you need no matter where you are!
  • Find a form of exercise that you enjoy or that motivates you.
  • Don’t miss a workout more than two days in a row, unless the plan calls for it, you are sick, or it is necessary.
  • Try a healthier version of your favorite holiday foods.
  • Pick protein first, veggies second and all other dishes last! This will keep you from going overboard and leave you fuller longer!
  • Find an accountability partner, either to workout with or just to check in with every few days.
  • Just stay moving! You can move your body anywhere, even if you just take a walk after your meals.
  • Don’t put your goals off until the new year. This is the biggest mistake people make around the holidays, but it doesn’t have to be your mistake.
  • Don’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout or eat a bit too much pie! Just get back on track immediately and move on.
