UAMS Cardio-Respiratory Care Program Receives APEX Award from AARC
| The Cardio-Respiratory Care program within the UAMS College of Health Professions early this year earned 2021-2022 APEX Award by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
“This honor is reserved for a very small number of programs, and is a reflection of the hard work of ALL of our program partners of the past 10 years – faculty (past and present), staff, Advisory Committee, preceptors, clinical affiliates, college administration, and students,” the college’s Dean Susan Long, Ed.D., said.
The Cardio-Respiratory Care program was one of eight selected in the Educational Program category. These award recipients demonstrate best practices in the profession and promote patient safety by providing access to respiratory therapists to deliver their care.
The AARC is dedicated to supporting the respiratory care profession. The Apex Recognition Award includes five categories for recognition: acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, home medical equipment (HME) companies, educational programs, and dedicated transport teams.
