February MVP — Marcia Dunbar

By Ben Boulden

Marcia is the volunteer coordinator for UAMS Volunteer Services. This is what her nominator has to say:

Marcia is full of energy and a smile for anyone she passes. Her kindness is contagious as she genuinely cares about those she interacts with on a daily basis.

While Marcia’s main role is to coordinate volunteer activities in the hospital as well as SPOT therapy, she wore many other hats during COVID. She assisted the office of patient experience in calling families when visitors were not allowed, she was the main champion for the cards on the patient doors during that time that had a few fun facts about the patients to help them connect with our staff, she helped with the screening stations, and coordinated all the community donations to support our frontline staff workers.

If you were to present Marcia with a need for our patients, families, or staff, there is no task to big or too small that she wouldn’t try to lend a hand in to make their lives better. It is an absolute joy to work alongside this true MVP.
