May MVP — Lisa Lack

By Ben Boulden

Lisa is a Medicare specialty billing manager. Here is what her nominator wrote:

We are proud Lisa Lack is our manager. Lisa is a great supervisor! She is understanding, kind, and a very hard worker. She goes over and beyond her job duties. Lisa has patience.

We are so very thankful and appreciative of a great manager she is to her employees. We truly value her as a caring person! She is a wonderful person. She is a great teacher. She is great with her department and we know she has our backs in anything.

She is compassionate and available to help her unit and others outside of our unit with no belittling. She is always there for any of us when we need a hand at anything, either work related or personal. She is the most approachable manager I have ever worked for and she really listens to what we have to say.

Some of the things she says are “It will be alright, don’t worry about it, we will get through this together.” “I know you can do this, I have faith in you.” She thanks us for our hard work and tells us face to face how proud she is of us. Lisa rolls up her sleeves and works just as hard as we do.

She will be the first to step up to the plate to help, always has old fashion courtesy and respect for others and reminds us why we are there.

Lisa models servant leadership in a personal way for her team. While she might not have expected it, they have noticed her caring and empathy. The UAMS community has too.

We will recognize Lisa in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. She will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and we’re giving her some great UAMS swag. At one of my cabinet meetings, we will present to Lisa a certificate and monetary award and honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.
