Compensation & Classification Study Project Update
| In the first quarter of 2021, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences launched a compensation and classification study, with the assistance of Segal, an independent HR and benefits/compensation consulting firm. We’ve completed the first step of this study, which was to develop a total rewards philosophy in collaboration with Senior Leadership, outlining the framework and guiding principles for how the UAMS compensation and benefits programs will be managed, administered, and maintained. This philosophy will be refined throughout our study as we gather additional information throughout the various project phases
The second step in this study was launched in mid-February, which was a comprehensive effort to obtain position description information. We are pleased to announce that we had a 90% position description completion rate, covering approximately 6,900 employees. Thank you to all those who helped us reach this significant milestone! We greatly appreciate your time and effort to provide us with current, accurate information. This data will be a critical component in the next phases of our study. Segal will continue to work with UAMS HR over the next few months to review the position description information received, develop broader job descriptions, and begin our market assessment of pay.
