Interim COVID Event Policy Updated
| The Chancellor’s office has recently updated the UAMS events policy. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation when hosting UAMS affiliated events. These regulations are put into place in an effort to keep you and our community safe and will be re-evaluated on a monthly basis. Check the events webpage for the most up-to-date event policy.
Interim COVID Event Policy
Due to the current state of the pandemic our events policy is evolving to reflect how we as a state and healthcare institution are operating at this time. It is important that our UAMS events/activities set a good example to the public, so please consider that when planning your event.
- The “in-person” audience is limited to UAMS staff and students only. UAMS strongly recommends making all events entirely virtual or offering a hybrid option for both in-person and virtual.
- Face masks MUST be worn at all times except when eating.
- We are currently operating at 100% capacity at on-campus venues except when food is served.
- While eating all attendees must be 6 feet apart. You need to have someone in a leadership position there to monitor this part of the event and ensure social distancing is taking place.
- If food is to be served, you need to book a location that accommodates 6 feet of social distancing per person. ReserveRoom@uams.edu can help you find a space that is accommodating for your group.
- Currently we are not allowing any external guests for UAMS affiliated events.
- Exceptions can be made for educational purposes.
- Any UAMS associated event must follow UAMS rules regarding masking, distancing, etc.
- Hand-sanitizer stations must be available at all entrances and exits.
- Refreshments may be served. However, self-service operations, including, but not limited to, salad bars, buffets, and condiment bars shall not be allowed. Please consider grab-and-go options.
This policy will be re-evaluated on a monthly basis. Please re-visit this page for future events.
