Kacie is a case coordinator in the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute’s Crisis Stabilization Unit. Here is what his nominator wrote:

Although Kacie is fairly new to his position with UAMS, he has contributed in heroic ways on our unit. He has brought a “vibe” to our team that is riddled with kindness, compassion, patience, and respect for others.

Our unit provides services for people who often need help in multiple life domains. Kacie, without fail, goes to every length to get their every need met. He embodies our recovery philosophy here, believes in the work he does, and truly is driven by the desire to help others. He has made our unit operate in a way that means that our patients will have better lives when they leave.

Not only does he perform miracles for the CSU patients, he has created bonds between team members that didn’t exist before. He reaches out to team members, without being asked, and helps them with whatever they may need. Every day he does this, without fail, without faltering. This has been a tremendous help to a team that is getting COVID-fatigue and we have welcomed his new positive spirit.

Today, he noticed a staff member, who has physical health problems, was not feeling well. He took her hand, sat her down, and did her job for 20 minutes so she could rest. He does so without need for recognition. He hasn’t been here long, but I hope he is here forever

UAMS will recognize Kacie in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for his photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature him, and he will receive some great UAMS swag. At one of Chancellor’s cabinet meetings, the university will present to Kacie a certificate and monetary award and honor his and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.
