Major Shift in Traffic Dec. 11 as Cedar Street to Close Permanently
| Traffic on Pine and Cedar streets on the east side of the UAMS main campus will shift on Saturday, Dec. 11 when Cedar Street permanently closes. (An announcement earlier in November stated the shift would occur on Nov. 27, but the change has since been rescheduled for Dec. 11).
UAMS will place sign boards in advance of the closing let drivers know of the closure. Plateau Street will open when Cedar shuts to general through traffic. The newly constructed boulevard will become the main travel route, and the old section of Cedar Street will become a two-way access drive which will be blocked off, have signage, and be striped to help direct drivers.
