UAMS’ Eric Peterson, Ph.D., Named Executive Vice President of BioVentures LLC

Peterson is chair of the UAMS Patent and Copyright Committee and is an associate professor in the College of Medicine Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

As executive vice president, he will oversee technology development in collaboration and partnership with the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

“Dr. Peterson has unique expertise in technology development and has already streamlined some of our processes, so we’re really excited to have him in this expanded leadership role,” said Kevin Sexton, M.D., president of BioVentures.

Peterson’s primary research focus has been the design of antibody nanotechnology and  gene therapy technologies that could reduce or block the rewarding effects of methamphetamine use disorder. He is listed as an inventor on three patents for his contributions to immunotherapies for drug use disorder treatment.

He has served on the UAMS Patent and Copyright Committee since 2014 and has served as chair since February 2021.
