July MVP — Victoria Smith

By Ben Boulden

Victoria has only been with Internal Medicine Clinic for a short period of time. During this time, she has been a shining star! She always has a smile on her face. She greets patients with a warm welcome! She is safety focused and doesn’t hesitate to ask clarifying questions. She has an outstanding work ethic! She has a positive attitude not only with patients but also with her peers. She brings goodies for her coworkers to enjoy on a regular basis! She is a giving person and considerate of others. She is our MVP on a daily basis!”

Victoria “Vickie” Smith has not been a part of our team for very long, but she has made a big impact! Vickie is such a hard worker. When there is a patient or visitor that needs help, she is there for them with a smile on her face and kind, compassionate words. Even when she was being led to the room for a job interview, she stopped to help a patient find their way to their appointment. I have never heard Vickie complain and she always keeps busy — finding ways to improve the cleanliness/organization of our clinic and asking others if they need help.

Since joining UAMS, Vickie has gone beyond what is expected to provide care to the patients, being very kind to others, shows respect to all, very giving.  We are so happy she has joined our team.

UAMS will recognize Victoria in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. She will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and we’re giving her some great UAMS swag. From one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Victoria will take home a certificate and monetary award and honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? If you have someone you’d like to nominate, please visit go.uams.edu/mvp/ and fill out the form.

Congratulate Victoria for being our MVP of the Month!
