October MVP — Kenyon Coiley

By Ben Boulden

In the course of his work, he puts into practice the UAMS values of being polite, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, optimistic and compassionate. Here’s what his nominator wrote:

Kenyon has worked endlessly with the Women’s Unit of PRI for the past year to help many positive changes in the dietary needs of our women. Kenyon worked with nursing staff to help with snack changes that would fit the needs of our women instead of the previous standardized amount. The women love this and look at his cart daily for his special snacks. He is also working with staff to help PRI patients have more meal selections. He knows how important this autonomy is for our patient population, when so many other things seem out of their control. One example of how he goes above the call, is recently coming in from vacation to cover staffing and ensure our patients would receive their food. He graciously called us to let us know that the meal might be a bit late but that he was on it. Kenyon works hard, because his heart is in his work, and it shows. He is always pleasant and does whatever he can for our patients.

UAMS will recognize Kenyon in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for his photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. He will get free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature him, and Kenyon will receive some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Kenyon be presented with a monetary award and certificate. The university will honor him and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.
