November MVP — Yingni Che

By Ben Boulden

Yingni has been working with us for more than four years and is a valuable team member. She is always willing to help other team members with their research projects. She is friendly to other team members. Additionally, she gave financial support to the Little Rock Food Bank at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her self-motivation and dedication to the quality of work inspires us all. She began at UAMS as a research assistant in 1994 and then with Dr. Wei at RIOA on cardiovascular research in 2017. She really did a great job during the COVID-19 pandemic. She donated 18 gallons of hand sanitizer from Rock Town distillery to many front liners in need at UAMS and at nursing homes as well as to essential workers at Kroger, USPS, Fed Ex, Natural Grocers, and to firefighters. Yingni has also donated masks to many in and outside the state, masks that her family sent from China. According to Yingni, life is priceless, and she is willing to pay a small price to save lives!! She used to wake up at 4 a.m. to make masks she donated to frontline workers and others in the hospital. She is always busy doing humanitarian work, donating to charities, and helping everyone in need. We need more people like her in this world to make it a better place to live.

UAMS will recognize Yingni in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and we’re giving her some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Yingni will receive a certificate and monetary award and honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? If you have someone you’d like to nominate, please visit go.uams.edu/mvp/ and fill out the form.

Please congratulate Yingni for being our MVP of the Month!
