December MVP — Eva Gerbitz

By Ben Boulden

Eva Gerbitz is the Lead Nurse Informaticist for Nursing and assists the entire hospital with Epic builds. Almost every single project that involves Epic, Eva has a hand in. She is the go-to person when anyone needs something done in Epic. She works with the Quality Department, Nurses, Providers, and UAMS executives to bring to life the ideas that improve patient care. She is respected by everyone she works with and shows exceptional teamwork with all those that she collaborates with. She has been instrumental in the following projects in the last year: Falls, Delirium, and Sepsis. I’m sure there are many others that I am not aware of. She is able to take ideas from non-technical clinicians and uses her creativity to make technology work for staff and patients. The impact of her work makes UAMS a safer place for our patients and improved outcomes for them. Eva deserves to be recognized as the MVP for the work she does for UAMS and our patients.

UAMS will recognize Eva in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and we’re giving her some great UAMS swag. At the chancellor’s December cabinet meeting, Eva received a certificate and monetary award. In the summer, we will honor her and other awardees at the annual MVP luncheon.

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? If you have someone you’d like to nominate, please visit go.uams.edu/mvp/ and fill out the form.

Please congratulate Eva for being our MVP of the Month!
