March MVP — Wade Talley

By Ben Boulden

This nomination is for Wade Talley and the entire move team. From an event perspective, the job Wade and his team do is nothing short of astonishing.

UAMS is not a traditional event venue with event-specific staff. The move team steps in and manages moving items (podiums, sound equipment, etc.) in addition to their regular duties of getting items from Point A to Point B across ALL UAMS entities in the state. They have continued to excel in this difficult, often unseen, work despite being drastically understaffed — operating with a team of three instead of seven or more. Not only do they show up right on schedule, but they do so with a smile and a good attitude.

Wade leads by example, remaining positive and professional; this optimism extends to his team. This team deserves to be recognized as MVPs, not just for a job well done under challenging circumstances, but because their role very often goes unrecognized. Many employees within UAMS have no idea we have a move team, but they all benefit from the efforts of this small but mighty unit.

UAMS will recognize Wade in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for his photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. He will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature him, and we’re giving him some great UAMS swag. At one of the his cabinet meetings,  Chancellor Cam Patterson will present to Wade a certificate and monetary award and honor him and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Please congratulate Wade for being our MVP of the Month!
