May MVP — Ashleigh Kathiresan

By News Staff

Ashleigh is the epitome of kindness. She displays and is the best example of someone who embodies and demonstrates all the core values of an MVP.

She is liked by everyone, she manages a very big team and facilitates lots of meetings every week with individuals from across departments and even outside of UAMS. She is always respectful, polite, kind, takes excellent care of her team and is always available when there is a need. She is always thinking of ways to move forward and include everyone in the decisions.

Her role in informatics requires her to come up with innovative solutions every day. She does an excellent job with communication across teams, and her number one priority is people. She has spearheaded the improvement of communication within informatics by introducing SBAR as the mode of communication. She has left a very lasting positive impression on everyone that she interacts with. There is no candidate more deserving for MVP.

She works with students, residents, fellows, staff, physicians on a daily basis as part of her duties. She also leads the physician builder group and facilitates EMR improvements, and increase in patient and provider satisfaction.

UAMS will recognize Ashleigh in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. She will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and the university will give her some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Ashleigh will receive a certificate and monetary award and honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.
