August MVP — Lisa Jensen

By News Staff

Lisa is a fantastic person with the strongest work ethic and the kindest heart. Lisa supports her numerous teams every day, responding to asks, but more importantly, proactively considering and resolving issues that have not yet been addressed. She was the ringleader of our recent move from Westmark to University Tower, overseeing ALL aspects for our teams and working to ensure a smooth transition. During the four years that I’ve known and worked with Lisa, she has always been willing to assist on any projects when a need arose.

One specific instance was related to a project requesting funding to purchase PPE during the pandemic. Lisa spent countless hours with Kyle Deen, pulling and reviewing thousands of invoices for the project. Though the process was lengthy, UAMS was awarded the funding and just recently received almost $3,200,000 for that project!

In addition to Lisa’s dedication to her teams on a professional level, she also cares deeply for those individuals on a personal level as well. Her love and compassion were shown in so many ways when our coworker George Belew was terminally ill. Lisa spent many days and hours of her time off work caring for George and his family. Lisa exemplifies the UAMS values. We are so lucky to have her!

UAMS will recognize Lisa in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. She will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and the university will give her some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Lisa will receive a certificate and monetary award and honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Please congratulate Lisa for being our MVP of the Month!
