April MVP — Scott Nellis

By News Staff

Scott is always willing to fix or help with something, even if it is not in his job description. During the winter storm, he arrived early and cleared the parking lot and walkways for the employee’s safety. We had several power outages, and he stood out in the extremely frigid weather to help the electricians fix the breaker issue so we could have power.

He is a HUGE asset to UAMS and an even bigger one to us at the Urology Surgery Center on Rodney Parham. We would not be as successful as we are without Scott.

We have recently had some big issues arise, and Scott has led the way in finding solutions. When our building lost power, and the breakers kept tripping, Scott was already done for the day, but he came back ON HIS BIRTHDAY to help get to the bottom of the situation and let us keep our power on.

Anytime something is broken, or there is an issue. Scott is always ready and willing to help fix whatever issue is at hand. He will come in even after he has gone home for the day if something significant needs to be looked at. We are very grateful to have Scott with us here at Rodney Parham.

UAMS will recognize Scott in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for his photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. He will receive free parking for a month in any of the parking decks. A Faces of UAMS video will feature him, and we’re giving him some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, we will present to Scott a certificate and monetary award and honor him and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? If you have someone you’d like to nominate, please visit go.uams.edu/mvp/ and fill out the form.

Please congratulate Scott for being our MVP of the Month.
