MVP for May — Cynthia Boyd

By News Staff

Cynthia Boyd is more than “just a nurse;” she is the epitome of what a nurse should be and the example of how a person should treat others! For years, she has diligently taken care of oncology patients and their families with a sweet disposition and a gentle reminder that they are never alone!

She is more than an exceptional nurse, she is an outstanding person and role model to future nurses, new employees, and coworkers.  She has precepted countless new nurses and employees, as well as mentored nursing students.  Cynthia is an excellent resource and an outstanding nurse who has picked up countless overtime shifts, despite being exhausted, just to make sure the patients she loves so dearly have the best care and that the coworkers that she treats like family aren’t overwhelmed by staffing shortages.

Cynthia Boyd deserves every MVP award there is because, without Cynthia Boyd and her loving care for all whom she encounters, UAMS would be at a huge loss.  It is important that nurses, as rare as Cynthia, who are not burnt out yet after all this time and still give 100% quality care, are recognized as the treasures that they are!

UAMS will recognize Cynthia in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and the university is giving her some great UAMS swag. At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings, Cynthia will receive a certificate and monetary award. Later this year, UAMS will honor her and other awardees at the MVP luncheon.

Please congratulate Cynthia for being our MVP of the Month!
