College of Health Professions 2024 Faculty Promotions

  • Cherika Robertson, M.Ed., promoted to associate professor with tenure in the Department of Laboratory Sciences.
  • Courtney Anderson, M.S., promoted to assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Sciences.
  • Edward Williams, DMSc, M.Ed., promoted to associate professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Lesley Jones, MS, promoted to assistant professor in the Department of Dietetics & Nutrition.
  • Shayla Stinnett, M.Ed., promoted to assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Sciences.

Robertson is assistant director of the medical laboratory sciences traditional on-campus program and internship coordinator in the Department of Laboratory Sciences. She earned a Master of Education from University of Arkansas – Little Rock, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from UAMS, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Southern Arkansas University. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Health Professions Education program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Anderson is a faculty member in the Department of Laboratory Sciences, medical laboratory sciences program. She earned a Master of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science with a concentration in medical microbiology and biochemistry from University of Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from UAMS, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University. Her areas of expertise include parasitology and body fluids.

Williams is chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and director of the physician assistant program.  He earned a Doctor of Medical Sciences from University of Lynchburg, a Master of Adult Education from University of Phoenix, and both a Master and Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska. He was selected as “Faculty Teacher of the Year” by the PA graduating classes in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Jones is a faculty member in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition. She earned both a Master and Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from University of Central Arkansas and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Dietetic Internship from UAMS/CAVHS. Her area of expertise is clinical dietetics — systematic approach to treating medical conditions, complex disease processes and their associated symptoms through medical nutrition therapy.

Stinnett is director of the cytology program in the Department of Laboratory Sciences. She earned a Master of Education in Educational Technology and Leadership from University of Louisianna-Monroe, and a Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology from UAMS. She has over 25 years of administrative and clinical experience in diagnostic cytology.
