Barbara is an I.D. badge security coordinator with UAMS Tech Security Support, Services and Keys. In the course of her work, she puts into practice the UAMS culture of being polite, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, optimistic and compassionate. Please read what two of her nominators wrote about how she does that:

Barbara meets every student, employee, and contractor that comes on campus to take their picture and provide them with their UAMS badge. She does this every day with a kind word and a smile no matter if it is just one person who has lost a badge, onboarding a group of new employees, or a group of new students. No matter the size of group or time of day she always greets each individual, is professional, and focused on providing the best service possible.

Barbara has truly excelled in her role as our ID badge security coordinator, showcasing outstanding problem- solving abilities and an impressive attention to detail. Her proactive approach to security has made a significant impact on our organization. Not only does she effectively manage the badging process, but she also collaborates seamlessly with both HR and IT to ensure a secure and efficient experience for new hires and existing employees. Her infectious positivity and readiness to help with badge-related inquiries have established her as a trusted resource.

At one of the chancellor’s cabinet meetings,  Barbara will receive a certificate and monetary award. In the summer, the university will honor her and other awardees at the annual MVP luncheon.
