Three New Faculty Members Join College of Pharmacy

Jessica Binz, Pharm.D.

Binz rejoins the faculty as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. Previously she was on faculty from 2015-2023 before spending two years with the Veterans’ Healthcare System of the Ozarks in Fort Smith. She is the clinical pharmacy specialist at the UAMS Family Medical Center in Fayetteville and site coordinator for the college’s ambulatory care postgraduate year two (PGY-2) residency. She received her Pharm.D. degree from UAMS in 2013.

Binz’s responsibilities include clinical care for patients, teaching didactic and experiential pharmacy education to students on the UAMS Northwest Arkansas Regional Campus and precepting the PGY-2 ambulatory care resident. She often helps patients manage diabetes and hypertension and has presented nationally on COPD management.

Morgan Streett, Pharm.D.

Streett joins the faculty as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. She received her Pharm.D. degree from UAMS in 2023 and completed residencies at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis and the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock.

Throughout her post-graduate training, Streett has focused on the management of acute medical conditions and pain management in the inpatient setting. She will serve patients at UAMS as a clinical pharmacist on one of the internal medicine teams, where she will precept pharmacy students and residents. In addition to teaching and precepting, she will work on research and quality improvement projects to improve care to patients in central Arkansas.

Michelle Hernandez, Pharm.D.

Hernandez joins the faculty as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. She received her Pharm.D. degree from UAMS in 2023 and completed residencies at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock and with the College of Pharmacy at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville.

Hernandez has focused on ambulatory care, helping patients manage chronic conditions through education and navigating medication access barriers. She will serve patients at the UAMS Family Medical Center in Little Rock while also teaching and precepting students. Her research interests include digital health, diabetes and strategies to improve chronic disease management in ambulatory settings.
