Sravani Gundarlapalli, M.D., Joins UAMS Division of Hematology Oncology

Board-certified in internal medicine, Gundarlapalli joins the state’s most experienced hematology oncology team that leads Arkansas’ only stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy program, offering advanced treatment for patients with leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma and other blood disorders. The division also houses the internationally recognized UAMS Myeloma Center, part of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

Gundarlapalli completed a three-year fellowship in hematology oncology at UAMS in 2025, where she held the position of chief fellow. In 2022, she served as a lead hospitalist in the UAMS Hematology Oncology Division’s myeloma section and as an assistant professor UAMS College of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine. She has contributed to numerous scientific publications focused on multiple myeloma and stem cell transplantation.

“Having completed her fellowship training with us, Dr. Gundarlapalli is uniquely equipped to step into this role with a deep understanding of the evolving landscape of cancer care. We are proud to see one of our own join the faculty and help lead our mission forward,” said Rangaswamy Govindarajan, M.D., chief of the UAMS Hematology and Oncology Division and professor of internal medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine.

UAMS offers Arkansas’ only hematology oncology fellowship program.

Before joining UAMS, Gundarlapalli served as an attending physician in internal medicine at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia, from 2017 to 2020. She completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, and received her medical degree from Kurnool Medical College in Kurnool, India.

At UAMS, she will specialize in the treatment of a broad range of blood cancers. She sees patients at the UAMS Health Medical Oncology Clinic, located in the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, and is accepting new patients. For appointments, call 501-296-1200.
