Linda Satter

By Ben Boulden

This summer, one of our Myeloma Center patients lost his therapy cat, Ralphie, at Homewood Suites. Linda, who is very active in cat rescue groups, immediately helped organize a search for Ralphie, who was found a few weeks later. Linda helped get Ralphie checked out at a vet, and then she welcomed him into her home while our patient underwent further treatments. She even gave Ralphie’s parents a key to her home so they could visit him whenever they liked. Eventually, Ralphie returned to his out-of-state home with his family. Linda keeps in contact with his family, and they have become friends. Absolutely none of this is in Linda’s job description. But it is not in her nature to let an animal — or his people — suffer. She went above and beyond in service to this family, and in doing so, helped our patient during his treatment journey.

UAMS will recognize Satter in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and UAMS will honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.

Do you know someone who should be the next MVP? If you have someone you’d like to nominate, please visit go.uams.edu/mvp/ and fill out the form.

Please congratulate Linda Satter for being the MVP of the Month!
