Family Medicine Physician C’Asia James, M.D., Joins UAMS Family Medical Center in El Dorado

By Andrea Hooten

James completed her surgical obstetrics fellowship in June at the UAMS South Regional Campus in El Dorado during which she offered prenatal care, labor and delivery, cesarean sections, and postpartum care. She completed her one-year fellowship after graduating in 2025 from the Family Medicine Residency Program at UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville. She earned her medical degree from UAMS as well.

Richard Reeves, senior administrative director for UAMS South, said James represents the future of family medicine in Arkansas.

“Her commitment to full-spectrum care, including obstetrics, ensures that patients can access high-quality services close to home, from prenatal care through every stage of life. She builds lasting relationships with the families she serves and delivers care that is both comprehensive and deeply personal,” Reeves said.

James is certified in eight areas including basic and advanced life support for cardiac, pediatric, trauma and obstetric patients and is trained in Nexplanon, a long-term birth control inserted into the arm. She also has clinical experience as an emergency room physician for three hospitals in southeast Arkansas.

James will also train future family medicine physicians as an assistant professor with the UAMS South Family Medicine Rural Track Residency program.

She is accepting new patients at the UAMS South Family Medical Center in El Dorado. To schedule an appointment, call 870-639-9939.
