Family Medicine Physician Charles Jones, M.D., Joins UAMS Health Family Medical Center in Helena-West Helena
| Charles Jones, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Family Medical Center in Helena-West Helena, where he will offer primary care for all ages.
Jones started his undergraduate studies with an associate’s degree from East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City. He went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Harding University in Searcy, a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and a medical degree from UAMS. He completed his residency in June 2008 at UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency Program in Pine Bluff.
Before coming to UAMS East Regional Campus, Jones spent 11 years as an independent contractor for hospitals and medical centers across south and east Arkansas: McGehee, DeWitt, Osceola, Forrest City, Helena and De Queen. He has cared for patients in his own private practice and once specialized in wound care.
Jones is seeing patients at Helena-West Helena’s UAMS Family Medical Center.
“UAMS is excited to bring aboard Dr. Jones,” said William McClain, administrative services director at UAMS East. “He is a family medical doctor with 18 years of experience and a lifelong resident of the Arkansas Delta, growing up in Hughes and graduating from Forrest City High School. Dr. Jones is very engaged in his local community, and we look forward to him bringing that community-minded care to UAMS East.”
Jones is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the Arkansas Medical Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians.
