UAMS Launches Convenient Telehealth Booth at Northwest Arkansas National Airport
| FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Northwest Regional Campus has installed a new telehealth booth at Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA), giving travelers, airport staff, and the public access to on-demand healthcare, no ticket required.
The private, soundproof booth is located near the baggage claim, outside the security checkpoint, so anyone visiting the airport can use it. A boarding pass is not required. This service is also available to surrounding communities that wish to seamlessly connect with a UAMS provider.
Inside, users can speak face-to-face with a healthcare professional through UAMS E-Link and UAMS HealthNow, UAMS’ digital health platforms that connect patients to providers for a range of nonemergency medical needs. There is no upfront cost to use the booth, and visits are billed the same as an in-person doctor’s appointment, including most major insurance.
Travelers and visitors experiencing nonemergent health concerns, such as cold and flu symptoms or minor injuries, can step into the private booth to consult with a UAMS provider without leaving the terminal.

In placing this booth at XNA, we’re meeting people where they are and making sure a healthcare provider is never more than a few minutes away, no matter their travel schedule.”

The booth is the largest privacy solution from booth manufacturer TalkBox. It was designed with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in mind and features a no-step, floorless entry, an automatic sliding door, a 360-degree wheelchair turn radius, rearrangeable seating, and a height-adjustable desk, making it accessible to all travelers.
The installation comes as XNA, the state’s busiest commercial airport, continues to grow. The airport served 1.26 million departing passengers last year and recently completed a terminal expansion.
