Robert and Rebecca Foster Give $100,000 to UAMS North Central Campus to Create Endowed Fund

By Andrew Vogler

The gift is made in recognition of the treatment that Rebecca Foster’s parents, Emma Virginia and Milous Campbell, received under the care of Julia A. Roulier, M.D., at the UAMS Health Family Medical Center in Batesville.

“To uplift Arkansas’ healthcare system, ensuring that we have healthy communities that can thrive, we need committed partners within these communities to support UAMS’s mission throughout the state. Robert and Rebecca Foster are the embodiment of the community advocates that we need to make this possible,” said UAMS Chancellor C. Lowry Barnes, M.D. “Further, I am inspired by the Fosters’ story — their industrious spirit, their passion for their family and community, and their deep faith that binds it all together. UAMS is extremely fortunate to have their support.”

UAMS North Central’s mission focuses on wellness and prevention strategies for area residents and the education of healthcare professionals through focused training of high-quality family medicine resident physicians and medical students in their third and fourth years.

“We are truly grateful for the Fosters’ generosity and earnestness in supporting the UAMS North Central Campus,” said M. Jordan Weaver, M.D., program director and family medicine physician. “The Emma Virginia and Milous Campbell Endowed Fund for Excellence will be instrumental in creating community-focused doctors that will serve many people in Batesville, Independence County, and beyond.”

In honor of the Foster’s gift, a space in the North Central Regional Campus’ will be named in honor of Emma Virginia and Milous Campbell.

Childhood sweethearts, Robert and Rebecca Foster are the founders and owners of the Intimidator Group. Founded in 2013 in Batesville, the Intimidator Group specializes in the design, manufacturing, and sale of residential and commercial zero-turn mowers and utility terrain vehicles. In 2015, the Intimidator Group launched Spartan Mowers. In 2022, the Fosters sold the company to the Toro Company.

Previously, Robert Foster co-founded Bad Boy Mowers in 2002, then moved forward in 2013 to pursue the development of new product concepts that propelled the creation and success of the Intimidator Group.

Robert and Becky Foster are deeply rooted in the Batesville community and are known for their active involvement in both their church and a variety of local civic and charitable efforts. They have consistently demonstrated a commitment to serving others through their faith, community leadership, and support of initiatives that strengthen the quality of life in Independence County.

The Fosters live in Batesville and have three children and nine grandchildren.

“Because of the investment made by UAMS, the North Central Regional Campus medical education program is raising the bar for healthcare in our small town, providing resources that will allow our community to thrive,” said Robert Foster.

“The residents and medical students in this program are adding invaluable support to Independence County, and we are beyond happy to elevate a program that will provide much needed medical care to the many people who need it in our community,” added Rebecca Foster.
