Wilson was elected at the association’s recent annual meeting Oct. 3-4 in Key Biscayne, Fla.

A national, non-profit organization, AHC has served and represented academic health centers for more than 40 years. The organization is focused on improving health by advancing the leadership of institutions of health education and research, and addressing issues from the perspective of the health centers’ Chief Executive Officers. AHC is comprised of more than 100 member institutions.

Wilson became chancellor in October 2000. He previously served 14 years as dean of the College of Medicine after coming to UAMS from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Wilson did his undergraduate academic work at Dartmouth College and received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School.
